BOULDER – Office Evolution, a Colorado-based executive suite, virtual office, conference center and live answer receptionist provider, has assumed the management of two executive suite operations: Broadway Suites in downtown Boulder on the Pearl Street Mall and The Executive Suites at Denver West in Golden near the Denver West exit on I-70. These facilities represent the fourth and fifth additions by Office Evolution in the past three months. Office Evolution now operates sixteen business centers along the Colorado Front Range with a combined total of 399 private offices, 39 meeting and training rooms, and 150,000 square feet of space. In business for only five years, Office Evolution continues to be Colorado’s fastest growing executive suites and virtual office provider.
The addition of the already established downtown Boulder facility, Office Evolution has assumed the management of Broadway Suites. The site was previously operated by owner Paul Eklund of P.N. Eklund Interests, Inc. The space offers five floors with 59 executive suites, one large board room, and two conference rooms. “The change in management will be highly beneficial for our existing clients as well as the business community in Boulder,” says Eklund. “Office Evolution offers a network of locations and enables business professionals to meet in a variety of offices along the Front Range.” This transaction will allow Eklund to focus more on new real estate developments for P.N. Eklund Interests including additional development of his Office Partners fiber optic and telecommunications offerings.
Office Evolution has also assumed The Executive Suites at Denver West, formerly operated by Peter and Christopher Doig of Clover Road Properties. The facility offers 22 private offices, one large boardroom, and a conference room. “This change will provide our tenants with enhanced benefits and services” says Peter Doig. “Office Evolution will provide our tenants with extended reception hours and IT support. We are confident that our tenants will appreciate the services offered by the facility’s new management team.”

Within just 5 years Office Evolution has grown from one location with two employees to fourteen business centers and over thirty employees. Office Evolution was founded on April 1st 2003 by President, Mark Hemmeter. How do you make a small, home-based business look like a million dollars?

Start with a $400,000 phone system, add upscale meeting rooms, a private post office and more than a dozen professional receptionists. Then offer these personalized services to small- and medium-sized businesses in the Denver suburbs.

"We're smoke and mirrors," said Mark Hemmeter, president and founder of Office Evolution. "We make little companies seem real big."

After years of weathering the ups and downs of real estate development, Hemmeter recognized the need for small or fluctuating businesses to have a full-time receptionist without the accompanying stresses of hiring, training and payroll.

Answering services were too impersonal, and Hemmeter felt the big Denver companies that provide personalized services were too inaccessible for suburban and small home-based businesses.

So Hemmeter opened Office Evolution in eastern Boulder nearly five years ago. For medium-sized businesses, Office Evolution receptionists fill in when an in-office receptionist is on lunch break or absent due to illness or vacation — no need to call the temp agency and try to train a new receptionist for the short-term.

For small businesses, Office Evolution becomes the entire office and office staff.

"Home-based business owners get tired of meeting clients and customers at Starbucks," Hemmeter said. "Here they can use one of our offices or meeting rooms and look a lot bigger than they really are."

Cass Schaedig, owner of Trellis Healthcare Consulting, works from her home with three part-time employees. Schaedig began working with Office Evolution after the firm sent her a CD including a recording of its efforts to call her.

"The phone rang seven times, then they got my voice mail." Schaedig said.

Instead of missing these calls, Schaedig says the service can find her when she's out of the office so she can get the calls in a more timely and efficient manner.

The companies’ convergence technology allows for live-answer telephone calls that, previously, would likely have gone to voice mail. For example, a VoicePipe client with 10 employees and a receptionist may decide to have all calls that are not answered within two rings automatically forward to Office Evolution where the call will be liveanswered with the company or specific employee’s name. The ninth facility is the result of Office Evolution’s management assumption of the former Bridge Center, and is adjacent to Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree; the tenth is a remodel of the former Hampshire Inn at 1200 College Street, across from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins. The Lone Tree site is called “Office Evolution at the Bridge Center.” The Ft. Collins office suites are the result of collaboration with developer Richard Taranow, who remodeled the complex.

The Fort Collins business center hosts thirty offices, three conference rooms and one training room, which can accommodate up to forty guests. The executive suites have private bathrooms, wet bars, mini-refrigerators and microwaves, and are between 250 and 350 square feet. There will be a coffee shop, and restaurant with full bar service located in the facility and parking is abundant and free of charge.
