John and Karen Przedpelski believe in a hands-on work environment. They are very involved in managing the day-to-day operations of their Office Evolution franchise in Tampa, Florida and look forward to opening up a second location in Harbour Island this fall. The key to their success has been to find out what their members are looking for in a workplace, and identifying how they can best accommodate them.
The Przedpelskis have lived in Tampa for over 30 years, where Karen was an accountant and John was the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Masonite International. Karen later took some time off to raise their three children. Instead of taking early retirement when their youngest graduated from high school, they soon began looking for new business opportunities. John’s previous experience made him perfect fit for an Office Evolution franchisee. He was very familiar with scouting properties, signing leases, and working with various industries and business professionals.
The Przedpelskis came out for the Office Evolution Ohana Day, and both immediately connected with the Office Evolution people and concept of helping other business owners. The role of an Office Evolution franchisee is a nurturing and supportive role. John and Karen were excited to get to help people grow their businesses. That part of the Office Evolution model is one of the more rewarding aspects and is something they continue to be excited about.
The current Tampa location is in an area called Westshore, the largest business district in the state of Florida. It is conveniently located near major highways and bridges, is two miles from the airport, has a lot of free parking, and it is close to restaurants and two large malls.
After sharing the Business Center manager responsibilities in the Tampa location, John and Karen hired Lori D’Alessio to fill the role. Lori was originally a member at their Office Evolution location with her prior company, before she came on as the BCM. She was interested in the position and she knew the experiences of the members as she was also a member. The members love connecting and receiving help from her. She enjoys building the center’s awareness through social media and networking in the community, and does a great job running the day to day operations.
The new location is a bit different location. It will be on Harbour Island, across a short bridge from the downtown area, in a popular part of town that has a lot of new development. There are also busy restaurants and hotels nearby. John and Karen are excited about the new space. They will be able to see what people are looking for in this location so that they can tailor the space to meet those needs.
The Przedpelskis are excited to be a part of the growth in Tampa. They fully support the promotion and visibility of the Office Evolution brand. And, to help with additional exposure at the new location, there will be a large illuminated sign on the waterfront across from the Tampa Convention Center. They will also collaborate with local restaurants and businesses to connect them with potential members. Having lived and worked in the area for so long, they feel it helps them to reach out into the community and help their business succeed.
The Przedpelskis want their current and potential members to know that they are here to help people grow their businesses. The feedback from their members is that they have created a really supportive, caring environment with a good atmosphere. They continue to look for members that will thrive in their environment. Their goal is to create a place where people come into work with smiles on their faces.
