Franchise Spotlight – Roger Tietze and Phil Anderson

Getting to Know Phil Anderson and Roger Tietze of Conroe (The Woodlands) Texas

There’s “chemistry” between them.

For years, Phil and Roger have been partners in their own chemical consulting business. Between them, they’ve been involved in 15 patents, 21 product introductions, and two major chemical plant expansions.

They agree that they want to remain attached to their community and use their know-how in business services and hospitality to support other professionals. Both believe that their expertise in research and development, application testing, analytical testing, and market evaluation will be beneficial to fellow entrepreneurs in The Woodlands, and they look forward to coaching them on their way to success.

What route led them to become OE franchisees?

Simply put, “we outgrew our home offices,” says Phil.

The two started looking for office/lab space to accommodate their chemical consulting business, as well as franchise opportunities to bolster their consulting business. They heard about Office Evolution at a Small Business Administration Seminar and eventually went to Discovery Day. Says Roger, “We listened to CEO and Founder Mark Hemmeter talk about the franchise. I’ve never worked for leadership as inspiring as Mark. We really liked the support OE

corporate would give us, and our Discovery Day class helped us to see the advantages in joining such an enterprise.”

Their members rock!

TX Conroe Woodlands (1)

The Woodlands location boasts several members in law, financial services, insurance, and sales, as well as a gym franchise corporate office, transportation company… and even Federal government employees.

Getting to know members and their needs is so important, say Phil and Roger. “We held ‘Four-o’clock somewhere’ Thursday networking hours and numerous other events prior to the Covid-19 shutdown,” says Phil. “Now, we have social distance conversations or Zoom together to talk about everyday kind of things. Our fellow tenants know we’re in this together and we work to support one another. As we say around here, we’re ‘Texas Strong’.”

The best part about running an OE franchise?

Both agree: It’s the people.

“We have many different interactions in which we’re able to help someone with business or support them by cross-promotion. It’s really satisfying to empower them,” says Phil. “Often in our careers, Roger and I have had to bring a new product to market. We’ve seen the ups and downs of business. Now, we see our members’ businesses fluctuate, and we work together to push boundaries, make connections, and help them grow.”

Their office location is in an up-and-coming area of Montgomery County, Texas. The small shopping center nearby has six restaurants, a clothes boutique, nail and hair salons, a pharmacy, juice bar, and lots of other great amenities.
