Capital One is Going Hybrid

Capital One has decided to allow its employees to work virtually two days a week. The company plans to re-open its Tyson’s Corner headquarters on September 7th. When their employees go back into the office, they will be allowed on Mondays and Friday’s to work wherever they want.

Capital One Financial has over 10,000 employees who work in the D.C. area and this hybrid model gives these workers different options regarding their work environment. The motivation is the belief that remote work will not be going away anytime soon, as people have grown accustomed to their virtual work life. A study within Capital One was conducted and 96% of their employees shared their desire to have some virtual work incorporated into their schedules.

The goal for Capital One and other companies will be to give their employees a better balance in their work and personal lives. This step will most likely be copied by many corporations as their employees return to in-person work. While many people will not want to work from home, there are alternative options for them to get their work done in a professional environment. Co-working locations will look to see increased interest from hybrid workers in the future.
