Member Spotlight: Colin Stewart at One Love CPR
Colin Stewart is the founder of One Love CPR. We would like to introduce him as Office Evolution Hackensack’s February 2019 member of the month.
Who Are You?
I am a Jamaican immigrant now American Citizen. I served for 15 years in the United States Air Force. My passion is to spread safety training while empowering others to act when called upon. A goal is to be community multiplier in way of bringing others together while learning the trade of CPR.
Why did you choose your profession
My father, who was a nurse at Englewood Hospital in 1998, passed from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This happened during his workout routine. Coincidentally he was within 200 meters of a hospital in Teaneck, NJ. Bystanders called 911 but did not do any compressions to keep his blood flow going until the ambulance medics arrived. Therefore, I assume no one did CPR because they weren’t trained, or they weren’t confident in their training.
While in the Military I traveled the world working in Emergency rooms and in the back of Ambulances. After 15 years of training and a whole lot of hands-on I realize that people do want to help, they just need to be empowered and feel confident with the proper training.

One Love CPR is here to ensure all client information remain confident during and after training. We will come to your office, we will come to your events, or you and your organization can come to us. By Car, plane, or boat. I have trained hundreds of people who are part of the Pentagon, World Bank, government entities. Corporate businesses that I have instructed include CVS, Walmart, AT&T, Golds Gym, boy scouts, girl scouts, colleges, local schools, countless dental clinics & family practices. I’ve traveled from East to West coast of the United States empowering communities. There is no plan B for Passion.
What Inspired You To Launch Your Own Business/Firm?
Post military I didn’t know what to do with myself. So, after hundreds of resumes and no call backs it was safe to say I felt quite discouraged. I was helping a friend with a budget plan. She mentioned a CPR class she took in a conversation. At the time my initial thought was OUTSTANDING. In the military, it was mandatory training. As I previously mentioned about my Fathers sudden death and no properly trained CPR personnel in sight, I knew exactly where my career was about to take me! From that day on in 2015, within 2 weeks I was teaching my first class. I have been an active instructor ever since. The look in the eyes of someone in your class that now have the capability to save a life is such an awesome feeling!!!!
What Do You Love Best About Being a Business Owner?
I love my ability to interact and certify with a wide range of individuals and organizations, such as Lawyers, architects and healthcare professionals. All types of industry are relative and all part of a larger web that I can positively empower/affect.
What Do You Do For Fun?
I love family time, in my opinion, it is time spent best. I also love doing a multitude of things that include; fishing, boating, pool, darts, ax throwing, camping, reading, seminars, self-development and speaking to the public.
How had Office Evolution Helped You Be Successful?
The location, professionalism, flexibility, cost-effectiveness is just a few things that come to mind. My clients are always overly impressed at the hospitality they receive while in the facility. The fact that they have several different locations throughout the United States is a huge bonus. It’s a no brainer.
