Member Spotlight: David Yu at Hilltop Acupuncture– September 2019
David Yu, founder of Hilltop Acupuncture is Office Evolution Hackensack’s September 2019 member of the month.
Who are you?
David Yu is mainly an acupuncturist with a modest passion for food and a small side of wanderlust. During his search for direction in life, he happened upon acupuncture and discovered the joy of guiding people to better health. When not with patients at his offices, David travels abroad annually on medical mission trips. With his Bible and acupuncture bag slung over his shoulder, his goal is to reach people where medical services are not readily available. He finds great satisfaction in combining his love for travelling with being able to bring love and happiness to people through the gift of healing.
What inspired you to launch your own business?
Through years of employment in multi-disciplinary clinics, David learned much about the business of medical offices. However, the convictions he had when he first got into acupuncture and how he wanted to treat his patients were not fulfilled until he started his own practice where he was able to make those changes. The diverse experiences David gained through his travels and various education opportunities gave him the unique skills to better address the concerns of the patients he works with.
What’s unique about your business?
At Hilltop Acupuncture, we believe in providing exceptional quality of care for each individual. The physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of the body are all interrelated. Though all our physical bodies have been created in a similar manner, each person has a different story: unique events throughout our lives that shape us, often throwing our bodies off balance. Our mission is to treat each patient according to their unique history in order to aid them in their journey back into balance by helping restore body, mind, and spirit.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Our clinic gets its name from a passage in the Bible which tells us to let our light shine before others by performing good works and returning the glory to God. In this manner we desire Hilltop Acupuncture to be set apart, giving light to everyone who comes across it; to create a healing environment where patients do not feel like they’re just another name on a schedule, but a place where patients will be filled with peace and joy.
Why Office Evolution?
Hilltop Acupuncture only recently joined Office Evolution but is already immensely blessed by the warmth of the staff and fellow businesses within this space. This is the second location with the main clinic being in Edison, NJ and the staff at this Hackensack location has been overwhelmingly helpful in enabling a smooth transition into Bergen County. David is excited for this new endeavor and looks forward to growing Hilltop Acupuncture in Northern NJ through Office Evolution.
