Pictorial View of Our First Year April 2019-April 2020

I always love to look back at pictures, don’t you? They really do speak at least a thousand words! This past year of the pandemic has seriously hampered my ability to use my words, in real life, so  I am sharing pictures of our Walnut Creek space to bring you up to date.

Here is the opening shot in April 2019 when we first opened doors on our first space in Walnut Creek:

And, one month later, May 2019, the landlords started a major construction project outside which was completely done on March 11, 2020. Yes, unfortunately that was one week before the March 16, 2020 COVID shutdown order.

Here are pictures of the finished project, which we planned to showcase at a big party in June 2020.

Along the way, of course, the construction was a big inconvenience to us and our members. Noise, dust, blocked windows, hassles with access were just a few of the things we dealt with on a daily basis for nine months! 

We tried to emphasize the positive by focusing on how gorgeous the completed project would be by posting architectural renderings.

And finally – we had our Grand Opening in July 2019 and felt the love and support from our Walnut Creek community: 

This last year of the COVID pandemic has been hard on all of us, I know. One of the hardest things for me has been the inability to show off the space — not only to new people but all the people who suffered through the ongoing nine-month process. Let’s hope we can have a big party soon to show it off. For now, we can have small groups for tours and sitting outside when weather permits!
