The Spotlight’s on Jen Dalton with BrandMirror – OE Tysons Corner

Are you a dreamer, risk-taker, or doer?

All of the above. I think it is important to be a dreamer, risk-taker, and a doer. Although for me I started off as a dreamer, once I had a vision for my business, I could be a risk-taker and make it happen. We all go through each of these behaviors at different times or even at the same time. I recommend asking yourself (every so often) – am I being a dreamer, risk-taker, or doer? It can be possible to be stuck in one and needing to step back and switch gears.

As fellow entrepreneurs, we would love to hear about your business.

I started BrandMirror with the focus solely on helping individuals discover their passion and purpose & moving the needle on their visibility and impact. I typically work on retainer and strategize with business owners on their messaging, what makes them different, and how to break through the noise in ways that are compelling and amplify their relevance.

Who is your ideal customer?

I love working with entrepreneurs, executives, and leaders who have clarity on their vision and need help building their personal brand and message to move the needle on their impact as well as the success of their business. My friend Tina Fox recommends “helping the willing”, and in this case my ideal client understands the importance of building their personal brand and wants to move forward – they just need help with defining the strategy and structure to bring their personal brand to life.

What are your top tips for entrepreneurial success?

It is critical to know your niche and own your point of differentiation. I love to ask my clients “what is at stake” if someone does not work with them. This question can help individuals clarify their value and what they truly do to help. Be specific to be terrific.
