What is your company all about?
Finer Points Acupuncture is all about enhancing your health and wellbeing by supporting your body to heal naturally from within with traditional Chinese medicine. I offer holistic treatments which includes acupuncture, cupping, guasha (skin scraping), facial rejuvenation acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, herbal medicines, nutrition advice and lifestyle recommendations. My approach to your health is specifically individualized to you and is rooted in care, compassion, gentleness, and professionalism.
Why did you choose your profession?
As a child, Chinese medicine has always had a presence in my life. My first memory of Chinese medicine was in grade school when I sprained my finger playing basketball. I went home with a painful, swollen finger that I could not unbend. My grandmother sits me down and proceeds to apply an herbal liniment that my grandfather made literally from dried plants to my finger. I woke up the next morning and to my surprise my finger felt like nothing happened to it.
Since then, I have always b
een fascinated by alternative medicine. In my mid-20s, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and my acupuncturist I was seeing said she could help me. After a straight year of weekly acupuncture treatments and daily herbal medicines I could not believe after going back for a checkup my ultrasound showed no cysts on my ovaries! This is when I decided wanted to help heal people with this medicine because it is so amazing!
What do you do to enrich your life and the lives of others?
Helping people feel their best gives me so much meaning and purpose in my life I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. My hope is by helping others feel their best they can go on to do awesome things in their lives even if it’s just having more energy to play with your kids, do daily things that you couldn’t before, climbing that 14er or finally get pregnant. I also love making things with my hands and I do this through crafting, mostly macrame and jewelry. Almost all the macrame décor in my office is handmade by me!
