Member Spotlight: Sammy Fiegel of Good Rain Therapy, LLC
What is your company all about?
Good Rain Therapy is my mental health therapy private practice. I work with trauma victims, first responders, and clients struggling with depression, negative self esteem and self identity, PTSD and complex trauma. My passion is supporting clients to a better understanding of healthy coping and expression and encouraging their movement from struggle to strength. I specialize in evoking resiliency, mind and body safety, and building emotional agility. I am motivated to support those affected by universal feelings of pain and loss. I believe in the use of creation and empowerment to foster healing and build internal resiliency. I believe that our pain can give us purpose. I believe in Post-Traumatic Growth. I incorporate the existential view that I am journeying alongside my client in a path to wholeness.
Why did you choose your profession?
I became a therapist after going through my own journey of trauma and recovery. I realized that part of my gift as a human was to be able to understand others on an empathic level and use my own struggles and strength as a purpose to support others in their journeys.
What do you do to enrich your life and the lives of others?
I work hard everyday to battle my own negative self talk and depression. I exercise, run and trail run with my husband, hike and be outdoors and in the sun as much as possible. I cook and enjoy good food and company, have daily existential talks with my husband, practice being an honest and real human to my kiddos take them on adventures and show them that one of the most important things in life isn't success in the sense of monetary and marked achievements, but in being kind and building a community of good people around you.
My company is named Good Rain Therapy, after a song called Good Rain by Trevor Hall, he says, "I've found, that when you love one another only good rain comes down." That's the motto I try to live by and work by. When people ask me what kind of therapy I do... the easiest way to explain it without fancy clinical therapy words is... I love.
