Office Evolution, one of the largest coworking franchises in the country, will open its first South Florida location in the new Plantation Walk.

Colorado-based Office Evolution will lease 10,242-square-foot within the $350 million mixed-use project in Plantation. The coworking franchise was represented in the deal by Cushman & Wakefield’s A.J. Belt. Landlord Encore Capital Management was represented by Jay Adams of Newmark Knight Frank.

“I know what it is like to be an entrepreneur running a small business, and I believe the Office Evolution’s offerings are the perfect solution to support the success of entrepreneurs,” said Ed Uribazo, will run the Plantation office along with his wife Mitzy Uribazo. “Mitzy and I are excited to have picked Plantation as the first of seven Office Evolution Business Centers planned for South Florida.”

The coworking space should open in early 2020 with 40 private offices and collaborative work space. It will be within a 172,959-square-foot office building at 261 N. University Drive. Tenants will include Tacocraft.

Plantation Walk also has 700 apartments and about 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurants under construction. A Sheraton Suites hotel is on the site.

“Plantation Walk is the perfect location for Office Evolution,” said Belt. “With true walkability in a suburban office setting, it made sense from the initial office tour to heavily consider this option for Office Evolution’s first South Florida location.”
