Spotlight on Megan Ehrhardt: Community Manager at Office Evolution Broomfield
At the heart of Office Evolution Broomfield is Megan Ehrhardt, whose journey to becoming a Community Manager is as dynamic as the role itself. With a background steeped in hospitality, events, sales, and marketing, Megan has found a natural fit in her current position. “All those industries have overlapping skill sets that I think are beneficial to being a Community Manager at Office Evolution,” Megan explains.
Her journey didn’t stop at finding a fulfilling career; it extended into the entrepreneurial world, inspired by a deep desire for stability paired with the freedom to pursue her passions. “I have always wanted a job or career that provided stability while also fostering my passions and interests,” Megan shares. Growing up with parents who both ran their own businesses, Megan witnessed firsthand the determination and resilience required to succeed, which fueled her entrepreneurial spirit.
The Role of a Community Manager
Megan’s favorite part of her role at Office Evolution is the interaction with members and the opportunity to build networks and foster community. “I enjoy trying to build networks, foster community, and provide support when needed,” she says. Balancing her responsibilities as a Community Manager with her entrepreneurial ventures is no small feat, but Megan approaches it with an organized mindset. “Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit never rests, the work is never truly done. I balance it all by staying organized and building in time to get tasks done,” she notes, adding that weekends are often dedicated to her business ventures.
Entrepreneurial Insights
Megan’s entrepreneurial endeavors are as diverse as her professional background. She co-owns 5280 Event Planning, operates Ostentus Marketing Solutions, and has been a freelance photographer for a decade. “I have ‘started’ my photography business a few times, and each time I wasn’t in the right place to do so,” Megan reflects on the evolution of her businesses.
Her digital marketing company, Ostentus Marketing Solutions, started in early 2022 and has since gained momentum. “Digital media marketing is a key part of how companies promote their products and services. It is virtually impossible to market anything without social media,” she emphasizes. The name ‘Ostentus,’ meaning ‘to display’ in Latin, captures the essence of her business—displaying clients’ products and services through effective digital marketing strategies.
Entrepreneurship, however, comes with its challenges. For Megan, the biggest hurdle has been remaining steadfast in the face of adversity. “The biggest challenge is remaining steadfast when things are not going your way. Maybe it’s clients dropping, prospecting not bringing in leads, or just losing confidence in yourself. Keep going, nothing ever got done by quitting,” she advises.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Megan’s advice is to have confidence in your worth from the start. “One of the many lessons that I had to unlearn was that just because I am a new business does not mean that I should undervalue my skills. The best advice is to not underestimate your own capabilities and talent; charge what you’re worth,” she says.
Building Community in Broomfield
In her role as Community Manager, Megan sees herself as a catalyst for building a supportive and engaging environment at Office Evolution Broomfield. “Broomfield is in the suburbs, and therefore, a lot of entrepreneurs or even established businesses are using their home offices, cafes, and/or business centers in apartment buildings to work. This is not only distracting but isolating,” Megan explains. Her mission is to create a space where members can escape the isolation of home offices and connect with others in a professional setting.
Megan’s location might be quieter, but it’s far from dull. “My location is a quieter one, but they love food!” she exclaims. From Taco Tuesday to National Donut Day, and the upcoming Caffeinate & Chat event in September, Megan is always thinking of ways to bring members together.
A Personal Touch
When she’s not managing the community or running her businesses, Megan finds solace in reading, with a goal to cultivate knowledge across multiple genres. Family time is also important, especially as she prepares to become a new mom this fall. “Motivation is a fickle thing, and most days I am lucky enough to have it. On the days that I don’t, I remind myself that quitting is not an option,” Megan reflects. Her impending motherhood has become her primary motivation to create a stable life, not just for herself but for her growing family.
Looking Ahead
Megan’s goals, both for her role at Office Evolution and her businesses, are centered on growth. “My future goals within the Office Evolution Ohana are growth—either in the role of Community Manager or in a capacity where my skills can benefit my location and the business as a whole,” she shares. Similarly, her businesses are on a trajectory of growth, driven by the belief that when a business stops growing, it starts dying.
As for the coworking industry, Megan sees it as the future of workspaces. “Coworking & shared office space, I believe, is the future in every sense. Remote and hybrid jobs are becoming the norm. Humans need interaction, even if it is limited to sharing a coworking space, chatting in passing in a community kitchen, or catching up with a Community Manager,” she concludes.
Megan Ehrhardt’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and community—values that are at the core of Office Evolution Broomfield.
