George Mason University to Offer Free Mental Health Hotline

George Mason University’s Center for Psychological Services has announced they are offering free services to essential workers impacted by Covid-19. This hotline is available to those who work in healthcare, schools, sanitation, transportation, hospitality, the postal service, and the military.

The university provides trained volunteers, many of whom are graduate students, to any essential worker who has been impacted by Covid-19. This program is to ensure these workers are given the opportunity to improve their mental health. Volunteers will also attempt to connect anyone who has lost their jobs with financial support services.

These calls can be anonymous and will be available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday’s from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can call the Essential Workers Emotional Support Line at 703-215-1898. If you need additional support after your conversation, you can receive a free therapy session.
