About Mark VerWoert:
My name is Mark VerWoert, and I work for a company called Professional Office Services. We’re a healthcare communications company.
We help providers better communicate with their patients. We’re the company that will send you a text or an email to remind you:
- Where to show up
- When to show up
- What to bring for that appointment and
- What not to do the night before that appointment if it involves any type of a surgery.
We make sure you show up on time so that provider always has a full chair. [Professional Office Services] facilitates all of that in both print communication and digital communication.
What sets you apart from your competition?
So I’ve been with the company 30 years, and in that 30 years I’ve seen things change dramatically in healthcare. We have gone from a paper medical record to an electronic medical record; so all of that has really been driven from patients, requiring, and asking for different ways to be communicative with. We have to be able to provide that service for our customers.
The one thing we do to differentiate ourselves is we keep a sales rep at the forefront. A lot of what we do is available on the internet, but it’s really in a prepackaged form. So what we want to do is have our salespeople go in and consult with the practice on an individual basis to make sure that they’re utilizing the service we provide to its fullest. Instead of just using our service to remind people of their appointments, we’re also using that same service to remind people to pay their bills, which is different than what any of our competition is doing.
Business Tips:
Business Tip #1- Keep the Customer in Mind
The most important thing I would share with anybody is remember who’s paying your bills. Customer service has to be at the forefront. A lot of products and services are available on the internet, and that personalized service is the reason people keep coming back to POS.
Business Tip #2 – Be Patient, Be Persistent
I manage 15 different sales people across the western U.S., and the one thing I always remind them is things don’t happen immediately, you have to be patient, but yet persistent. You can’t give up right away. I’ve been in the industry 30 years, and I’ve had a lot of “no’s”. Quite honestly that just means a lot of “not right now’s”. So being persistent has helped me succeed and it would help anyone else succeed.
What has been your experience with Office Evolution?
Office Evolution has really provided me with more of a home for my office. I’ve been in different executive suites across the Denver area and I’ve seen different ones across the country, but I get more of a homey feel at Office Evolution because I know the person who’s sitting at the front desk, I’m able to see some familiar faces on my floor and able to have conversations that way. So I don’t feel like I’m all by myself.
