Member Spotlight: Terry W. Spicer

Terry W. Spicer is CEO of Raleigh-based Epiphany Public Relations. Her company hosts an impressive global portfolio of clients for whom she works to “lift their vision and voice to optimum success forward”.

But Terry is also on a mission to positively impact the world in a number of visible, important and enduring ways.

In 2013, after experiencing the trials and tribulations that cancer patients go through while tirelessly transporting her best friend to treatments during the last year of her life, Terry founded… and continues to lead… a non-profit organization called The Sisters Inspiring Sisters. With a motto of “We Fight Cancer One Mile At A Time”, the initially very personal but ultimately far-reaching mission of The SISI is helping cancer patients by providing transportation assistance through gas cards, educational forums, and community support. The organization has grown to serving over 1,300 cancer patients in all 100 counties of North Carolina as well as in 16 states nationwide.

In addition, Terry is committed to empowering young women to achieve their personal and professional aspirations through encouragement and mentorship. Her Small Pearls Apprentice Program is a unique leadership development initiative that provides girls ages 7-17 with an invaluable and intensive curriculum geared to enhancing their educational, cultural, morals and leadership capacity. Terry’s recently published book, The Small Pearl in Every Girl: Affirmations of Life & Leadership from the Power of Her Skirttail, shares the wisdom of 113 global, corporate and community women leaders from across the nation in a powerful and engaging manner. All proceeds from the sale of this book benefit The SISI. Click HERE to view Terry Spicer being interviewed on local television station WRAL.

Terry is married to Stacey, “the most wonderful bald-headed guy in the world”, and is mother to an adult son, Stacey Jr. In addition to her business and charitable work, she serves on the National Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She happily shares that the pearl is her personal and professional brand, red is her favorite color, and she makes it a point of wearing both in some manner every single day.
