Setting out on your own can be an exciting adventure! Solopreneurs are in love with the idea of creating something new and working on their own terms. However, as humans, we’re also social creatures that tend to thrive (in varying degrees) in the presence of others.
When you finally make a breakthrough, come up with a brilliant idea, or have a unique thought or question, it can be disheartening not to have someone close by to share it with. We want people to celebrate with us when we achieve something new. It gives us confidence that we’re on the right track and can boost our ego and fuel our excitement.
These are things that many new solopreneurs don’t think about when they’re getting started. In fact, many like the idea of leaving the office environment behind, especially knowing a few annoying coworkers aren’t coming along for the ride.
But there is also no doubt that you can go farther when you have the support of other people. Eventually, you may miss being in the presence of others, even if only for a few hours per week.
