An Essential Business for Uncertain Times
After weeks of lockdown and uncertainty, it sure feels like business unusual out in the world. With many offices, retail operations and nonessential services shut down, our members have had to adjust their routines, and often their expectations, for the first half of the year. Rest assured that Office Evolution franchisees and business center managers across the country are working harder than ever to help their members’ operations run as smoothly as possible during these challenging times.
Providing Needed Services
Since Office Evolution provides essential services as agents of the U.S. Postal Service, all our locations are open and doing business. Besides delivering mail, our franchisees make sure members’ phones are answered and virtual assistant services are performed as usual.
Private offices and meeting rooms are still available, and both coworking and drop-in space can be used with adaptations to conform to preferred social distancing practices. At Office Evolution, we want our members to know that we take their health and safety very seriously.
The Strength of the Flexible Workspace Category
The coworking/flexible workspace category has rebounded and grown through challenging times before, and it will weather this storm as well. In fact, during the 2008 recession, the industry suffered just a 5.5% decrease in occupancy (a leading indicator in our category). Post-recession, business rebounded nicely, due in part to the growth of small businesses that needed space to expand, and in part to enterprise demand as companies sought to diversify their property portfolios.
Even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, both our inquiries and member retention remain strong. We continue to welcome new private and virtual office members, and we continue to serve them.
The Benefits of an OE Franchise
Despite the current pandemic, this is the perfect time to connect with us and explore the possibility of opening your own franchise. After all, the coworking model is booming and provides you with monthly recurring revenue. You need to hire just one employee, your hours are regular, and your members are all professionals determined to succeed in their own businesses. You’ll never have to worry about potential problems with hourly employees, expiring inventory, or cash. The shared office space model is evergreen and is only expected to grow as workers search for the perfect balance between a traditional corporate setting and a home office.
