Franchise Spotlight: Cliff & Angela Osbon

Introducing Cliff and Angela Osbon of Flowood, Mississippi

They’ve got pretty cool backgrounds.

Cliff graduated from pharmacy school in 1984 and most recently led the founding and 15-year growth of Transcript Pharmacy, a regional specialty pharmacy. He sold it in 2018, and now provides consulting services to health care businesses.  Angela has a degree in paralegal studies and has worked in various legal settings for the past two decades. More recently, she’s been part of Innovate Mississippi, a public-private organization that helps match Mississippi entrepreneurs with resources like funding and experienced advice.

Cliff and Angela live in the Jackson area, but often escape to their apartment in the French Quarter of New Orleans, where they love listening to live music and indulging in that famous Big Easy cuisine. On the family side, they have four children and one grandchild, plus a couple of rescue pets. They admit to having a soft spot for organizations that provide food, water, health, freedom, and hope in various places around the world.

What made them decide to tap into the OE Ohana?

Having seen fractional ownership of various other things – like Uber and Lyft for cars, or AirBnB for vacation homes – we thought the coworking model, which is similar to fractional ownership, offered a lot to entrepreneurs like us,” said Angela. “That set us to investigating various franchises, and ultimately attending Office Evolution’s Discovery Day.”

“We believed in the Ohana culture, did our diligence, and ultimately signed a Franchise Agreement on New Year’s Eve 2018!”

Why their location rocks.MS-Flowood-Jackson-Ext

Their OE space is in Flowood, a suburb of Jackson, and a mere five-minute drive from Jackson International Airport.  But they’re most excited about being adjacent to the new Flowood Conference Center with its convention facilities, hotel rooms, restaurants and golf course. That’s scheduled to open this coming fall, allowing OE members access to all of the amenities offered by the Conference Center.

They are scheduled to open in May 2020 and expect their members will include entrepreneurs and professionals like attorneys, consultants, accountants, non-profits, realtors, financial service providers and others who can benefit from their location, amenities with respect for their members’ business budgets.

What energizes them the most about owning an OE franchise?

Cliff and Angela both have that can-do, entrepreneurial spirit, and they’re eager to share it with other entrepreneurs and professionals in the area. “We can provide members with facilities and services with respect for their budgets, give them tools for growth, and coach them as they support their clients,” noted Cliff.

The duo’s advice on choosing the right franchise:

“Do your due diligence.  Use public sources to vet out prospective investment opportunities.  Read through the formal investment packets from the corporations, but don’t neglect one-on-one interviews with current franchisees.”  Those one-on-one calls actually helped the Osbons to conclude that the OE Ohana was right for them!
