From Online Coffee Subscription to a Flagship Café: Shaquanda’s Burst Beans Journey

Some businesses are built on a spreadsheet. Others are built on a belief. For Shaquanda, founder of Burst Beans Coffee, entrepreneurship has always been about more than building a company — it’s about creating something meaningful, serving her community, and having the courage to keep evolving.

That spirit of evolution is exactly why her story fits so well with ours. Since 2021, Office Evolution has been part of Shaquanda’s journey — from an online coffee subscription run out of a laptop to the first Burst Beans flagship café. We sat down with her to hear how it happened, and the role a professional workspace and community played along the way.

A Business Built on a Simple Belief

Burst Beans Coffee started with an idea: that coffee can be more than a beverage — it can be a moment of self-care. Built around what Shaquanda calls The Mindful Coffee Experience, the brand encourages people to pause, sip, reset, and intentionally pour back into themselves.

What began as an online, direct-to-consumer subscription business was rooted in five core values: purpose, quality, intentionality, community, and wellbeing. Shaquanda started by bringing specialty-grade coffee into people’s homes — and over time, her customers and community helped her see a bigger opportunity: a physical space where those same values could come to life.

Today, she’s proud to have opened the first Burst Beans Coffee flagship café in Hackensack, New Jersey at 95 Anderson St, Hackensack NJ — just around the corner from her Office Evolution location.

Why a Professional Workspace Made the Difference

Office Evolution has been part of Shaquanda’s entrepreneurial journey since 2021, providing not just workspace and professional resources, but a community that understands what it takes to build something from the ground up.

“As an entrepreneur, you eventually realize that having a dedicated workspace and professional environment can make a tremendous difference in how you show up for your business,” she shared. A dedicated office gave her a place to work, meet, and think strategically — somewhere to keep building Burst Beans with confidence, rather than squeezing it in around the kitchen table.

When it came time to meet with partners or collaborators, having professional meeting rooms and conference rooms on hand meant she could host those conversations in a polished setting. And for the days she simply needed focused, private space, options like day offices and coworking gave her room to work the way she needed to.

“My favorite part of being here has always been the community. Entrepreneurship can sometimes feel isolating, so having access to a network of other business owners and a supportive Office Evolution team has been invaluable.”

Growth That Feels Achievable

For Shaquanda, membership has meant something bigger than a physical workspace: confidence in her ability to grow and evolve. Over the years, she’s leaned on the resources and community around her to develop Burst Beans from an idea into a growing coffee brand.

“One of my proudest examples of growth is seeing Burst Beans move from a primarily online DTC coffee subscription business to opening our first flagship café,” she said. “Having Office Evolution as part of that journey has made the evolution feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more achievable.”

That’s the idea at the heart of what we do. The milestone she’s most proud of? Opening the doors to that first flagship café — years of persistence, learning, risk-taking, and growth made real. “What started with selling bags of coffee online has become a physical space in the community where people can gather, enjoy great coffee, and take a moment to pause, sip, and reset,” she said. “It represents the evolution of a dream.”
