Denver Is a Coworking City. This September, the Industry Comes Here.

Denver has quietly become one of the country’s major coworking markets.

Once associated primarily with freelancers, startups and a handful of coastal tech hubs, coworking has evolved into an important part of how businesses of all sizes think about where and how their teams work. Denver has been at the forefront of that shift.

According to the Yardi Coworking Index, Denver is currently home to 273 coworking locations representing approximately 4.3 million square feet of flexible workspace, placing it among the 10 largest coworking markets in the United States by square footage. Denver also has approximately 5.5 coworking locations per 100,000 residents, more than double the national rate of 2.7.

Nationally, coworking has grown to more than 9,300 locations representing over 166 million square feet of flexible workspace.

For those of us who work in coworking every day, those numbers reflect something we’ve been seeing firsthand for years: flexible workspace has become an established part of Denver’s business landscape.

This September, Denver’s place in the industry will be especially visible as coworking and flexible workspace leaders from across the country come together right here in our backyard.

What Is GWA?

From September 1–4, Denver will host the 2026 Global Workspace Association Conference at the Sheraton Denver Downtown.

The Global Workspace Association (GWA) is a nonprofit organization that has served the flexible office industry for more than 30 years, bringing together workspace operators, owners, service providers and other industry professionals to connect, learn from one another and help shape the future of flexible work.

Its annual conference is one of the industry’s major gatherings, with three and a half days of education, networking and conversations about where flexible workspace is headed next.

Having GWA in Denver feels particularly fitting. This is already a city where coworking has taken root at nearly every level, from downtown hubs serving growing companies and traveling professionals to neighborhood and suburban spaces giving people the ability to work closer to home.

The Coworking Conversation Starts Before GWA

Before GWA officially gets underway, Denver will also welcome franchisees from across the VAST Coworking network for a regional meetup.

VAST is the larger coworking organization behind Office Evolution, Venture X and Intelligent Office. The gathering gives operators an opportunity to share ideas, compare what is working in their local markets and learn from one another before joining the broader industry conversation at GWA.

For our team, the VAST meetup and GWA make for a full week centered around something we value: learning from other operators while sharing what we’ve learned from building and operating coworking communities here in Colorado.

Welcoming the Industry to LoDo

We’ll also have the opportunity to play host.

Venture X Denver LoDo, part of our Ohana Network and located in Dairy Block in the heart of downtown Denver, will host the GWA welcome reception to kick off the conference.

We’ll welcome conference attendees for an evening of networking, bar service and a custom menu of GWA-inspired cocktails created especially for the occasion.

Before the panels and conference sessions begin, attendees from across the industry will get to experience one of our spaces, meet our team and enjoy a little Denver hospitality firsthand.

Three Ohana Network Leaders Take the Stage

Once the conference gets underway, three members of our local team will join conversations on the GWA stage, each bringing a different perspective on where the coworking industry is headed.

Katie Baroway will join AI in Action for Workspace Operations, a discussion focused on how operators are putting artificial intelligence to work in their businesses today. The panel will explore what is actually working, what isn’t, and how AI can help streamline operations, support teams and improve the member experience.

Jennifer Billinger will participate in Building an AI Strategy Your Team and Clients Can Trust, taking the conversation a step further into responsible AI adoption. Her panel will discuss issues including data privacy, internal AI policies, vendor security and how businesses can use emerging technology while maintaining the trust of their teams and clients.

Bryce Hill will join The Hospitality Edge, exploring another side of the coworking experience: the human one. The discussion will focus on how hospitality-driven cultures can strengthen member engagement, improve retention, generate referrals and create communities that people genuinely want to be part of.

Taken together, the three conversations represent some of the biggest questions shaping coworking today:

How do we operate more intelligently? How do we adopt new technology responsibly? And as technology changes our businesses, how do we make sure the human experience gets better, too?

Bringing the Conversation Back Home

Participating in industry events like GWA isn’t simply about getting on stage.

Some of the most valuable ideas in coworking come from operators sharing what they’ve tried, what has worked, what hasn’t and what they’re seeing from members in their own markets.

Being part of those conversations gives our team an opportunity to contribute what we’ve learned across our Front Range locations, but just as importantly, to bring new ideas home. That ultimately benefits the businesses and professionals who work from our spaces every day.

And for one week this September, we won’t have to travel very far to do it.
