We love the story behind TSL: a partnership between three women entrepreneurs who beautifully demonstrate what happens when shared values spark a lasting business alliance.
The TSL Partnership, based at Office Evolution in Fairfax, VA, is not just a story of collaboration— it’s a story of connection, vision, and the courage to build something greater together. The partnership brings together three individual LLCs: Partnership Consulting Group, Jamshidi Consulting, and Skyview Consulting Group.
The Genesis of Our Partnership
Born out of a chance meeting during a George Mason University, Organization Development and Knowledge Management Master’s program, Tammy, Sandra, and Leslie discovered a rare synergy. What began in class soon became a meaningful connection grounded in their military ties, shared values, and entrepreneurial dreams.
“It didn’t take long for us to realize how much we had in common—not only our military-affiliated lives as spouses, children, and service members—but also the unspoken language of resilience, adaptability, and service. During group projects and hallway chats, our visions began to align. Each of us had already launched, or was in the process of launching, our own LLC, but we were independently imagining the same future: impactful, client-centered work, customized approaches to organizational issues and the freedom to collaborate where it made sense.”
“We should do something together,” someone finally said. It wasn’t long before that turned from a casual idea into committed action.
“The magic of our partnership is that we don’t have to explain our ‘why’ to each other—we just get it.” – Leslie
“We all had successful businesses on our own, but we realized we could go farther, together.” – Sandra
“This partnership is built on respect, trust, and a shared belief that our clients deserve our best.” – Tammy
Building a Collaborative Culture
Our partnership thrives on open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. Regular strategy sessions and brainstorming meetings have fostered a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
Why We Chose to Partner on Projects – Not Merge
One of the most intentional decisions we made early on was not to form a single company together. Instead, we chose to remain as three individual LLCs collaborating on select projects under the TSL Partnership umbrella. Why?…because our strength lies in the distinct expertise each of us brings to the table
Tammy’s experience spans corporate America, Fortune 500 environments, defense contracting, and nonprofits, giving her a broad view of how both public and private sector systems work – and how they can break down.
Sandra, a retired Naval Officer, draws on a background in IT and military leadership, offering a systems-oriented, mission-driven lens that adds structure and strategic insight to every engagement.
Leslie brings deep expertise from the world of higher education, small business, and nonprofit leadership, offering a rich understanding of organizational culture, learning, and social impact.
What unites us isn’t identical résumés – it’s a shared foundation in executive coaching, facilitation, leadership development, and change management consulting. We speak the same language when it comes to human-centered, transformational work. But we each bring a different dialect, and that diversity is what makes our solutions resonate so deeply with the clients we serve.
We also share a belief that “canned consulting” simply doesn’t work. Cookie-cutter playbooks may create the illusion of progress, but they rarely solve the real pain points our clients are facing. Instead, we listen first, then tailor deeply customized solutions that honor the complexity of each client’s challenges.
By staying independent but deliberately collaborative, we give our clients the best of both worlds: the flexibility and innovation of boutique firms, combined with the strength and synergy of a trusted partnership. This model lets us co-create solutions that are agile, grounded in real expertise, and laser-focused on what matters most – organizational health, team effectiveness, and meaningful change.
Why Office Evolution Works for Us
When we first toured Office Evolution, we were struck by how welcoming, bright, and energizing the space felt. Members were casually connecting in the shared areas, and people greeted us with genuine warmth—it immediately felt like a place where our collaboration could thrive. Since moving in, that first impression has proven true. We’ve built meaningful connections with other members, engaged in thoughtful conversations, and even explored potential partnerships and peer support groups.
For us, Office Evolution isn’t just where we work—it’s a space that supports our individual goals and fuels our collective vision by keeping us surrounded by like-minded, growth-oriented professionals.
“We could’ve made virtual work, but we chose in-person for the richness of being together. There’s just no substitute for real connection in the same room.” – Sandra
Looking Ahead
As we look to the future, we’re not solely focused on contracts and clients – we’re building a legacy of collaboration and lasting impact for the organizations and communities we serve. The journey from classmates to co-creators has shown us the power of shared vision, and we’re excited to see where it takes us next!
