Since we’ve opened for business on September 14th of this year, we’ve welcomed several valuable members into our Business Center. Our very first member, Cornell Mathis of Goosehead Insurance and private office client to the Business Center, has given us the opportunity to highlight him and his business on our very first Member Spotlight Q&A blog post.

Q: Tell me about your business. What is your elevator pitch?
A: I own a Goosehead Insurance Agency. Goosehead is an Independent Insurance Agency that specializes in personal lines insurance such as home and auto insurance. It’s headquartered out of Dallas Texas and just recently became a publicly traded company.
Q: How long have you been in your field, and what inspired you to get into it?
A: I’ve been in my field for 17 years and enjoy helping customers find the best home, auto, boat, motorcycle, life and small business insurance that meets their needs.
Q: What do you think sets your company apart from the competition and what sets you apart from other people who have your job title?
A: Goosehead was voted #1 on The Entrepreneur’s Top company culture list this year. Goosehead rewards hard work for Agents, it offers more choices for customers to meet their insurance needs!
Q: If you could give your younger self career advice, what would you tell yourself?
A: Pursue work with purpose, and build your business one relationship at a time, as it relates to both customers and business partners!
Q: If you had family or friends visiting from out of town, and you could only take them to one place in Ann Arbor for dinner, where would you go?
A: I’ve eaten at a lot of places and for me, the Mediterrano restaurant is the best. Good food, fast service, wide variety of menu items, and reasonably priced!
Q: What drew you to Office Evolution?
A: The office location was the first thing that drew me to Office Evolution. The building is 2 minutes from I 94, and just 5 minutes from 23; This shortens my commute time and allows customers to easily access the office. And, there’s ample parking. The next thing that drew me to Office Evolution is the staff, starting with Dave, the Franchise owner, and Andrea, the office manager. Dave’s personable and along with his wife Carol, he’s created an office that’s stylish, modernly furnished, and customer friendly. I love coffee and he’s passionate about coffee too and stocks specialty coffees that are amazing. And Andrea is professional and friendly too and handles customers very well.
Q: What do you like the most about Office Evolution?
A: I’ve had offices in the past where you have to worry about internet, phones, buy furniture, and worry about the things that don’t really pertain to doing your business. At Office Evolution, they take care of this. It’s all inclusive. It’s great!
