Hamilton County Remembers Those Lost to COVID-19

Municipal governments of Hamilton County, Indiana are encouraging residents to take part virtually in a Night of Reflection on March 13 at 7:00pm, in honor of the nearly 400 citizens who died throughout the pandemic.

The mayors of Noblesville, Fishers, Westfield and Carmel will gather with County Commissioners Christine Altman, Steve Dillinger and Mark Heirbrandt on the square in Noblesville. There they will share remarks on the previous year that will be broadcast live on HCTV1.com. Viewers can also find the ceremony being broadcast on HCTV Facebook and YouTube.

The ceremony will be backlit around the Square in various lighting configurations honoring both those who have lost their lives and those who have efforted tremendously during the pandemic. A single luminary will be lit for each Hamilton County citizen who died of COVID-19 in the past year. Additionally, all downtown buildings and the Logan Street Bridge will be illuminated in blue to visibly honor and remember the front line workers of Hamilton County.

Hamilton County residents are encouraged to light candles and place them in their windows at 7:00pm on the day of the ceremony. Residents can pickup battery-operated candles at all libraries in Hamilton County along with various parks and government buildings around Hamilton County. The candles are free.
