A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Doug Havas and his family moved to Charlotte 25 years ago, where he has pursued a career in sales and sales leadership for companies large and small…including a few global corporations. Recently, he opened his own consulting practice, providing sales consulting and fractional sales VP services to small and mid-size businesses. He views Charlotte as a business-friendly city that allows start-ups and small businesses – particularly those in healthcare, financial services, fintech and innovation – to flourish.
“I’m confident that the Office Evolution value proposition will work well in our marketplace,” Doug says. “I look forward to leveraging my sales consulting business and helping to connect my OE members with referral partners in my network.” After working in corporate America for so many years, he adds, he’s excited about getting involved with the community on a more local level. “I’m anxious to serve small businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them to grow their businesses.”
With 35 years of sales and customer service under his belt, Doug has definite ideas about what works when dealing with clients. “My advice to business owners is to focus on a ‘customer first’ mentality, treating people with respect and consistently doing the right thing,” he says. “Do that, and you will ultimately do well and prosper.”
Doug and his wife, Ramona, still have strong ties to the Annapolis area, where they have a second home…and a sailboat. “I fell in love with sailing the Chesapeake Bay years ago, and we sail whenever we can get away,” he says. He and Ramona, a retired physical therapist, are both certified divers. They have two grown children and one grandchild and is grateful that all live in the Charlotte area so they can see each other often.
