Member Spotlight: Yosef Gillers of GrowTorah

JYosef Gillers, Founder and Executive Director of GrowTorah is Office Evolution Hackensack’s spotlight member.

Who Are You?

Yosef Gillers is an experiential Jewish educator inspiring Jewish youth with educational garden programs at Jewish schools. He founded GrowTorah, a New Jersey non-profit organization, in 2017 with the mission of cultivating a more passionate, compassionate, and sustainable future. Currently, GrowTorah partners with 12 schools in Northern NJ and NYC to create educational garden programs. Yosef holds a certificate in Experiential Jewish Education from M2 – The Institute for Experiential Jewish Education, as well as a Level I certificate in Telemark Ski instruction, which he uses in the winter to teach skiing in the Catskills.

What Do You Do For Fun?

I love hiking and skiing with my wife and our 2-year-old daughter, and of course, gardening! Also, I’m an amateur glassblower; once a year I rent time at a glassblowing studio to make serving bowls and flower vases for family and friends.

How Has Office Evolution Helped You Be Succesful?

Office Evolution enables me (and now my team!) to work in a professional office setting for a very reasonable price, in a super convenient location. As a small nonprofit, this was hard to find this elsewhere. The location is particularly convenient, so on garden days I can drop in for a few hours and focus on some office work, then head right out and get back to some of our local school gardens.
